Kadarka 1880
Vintage: 2019, dry red wine
Grape variety: Kadarka
Terroir: Nosza hill
Our historic Kadarka plantation, which was planted on a hill in Nosza in 1880 as we know is the oldest Kadarka plantation in the world. Thanks to the sandy soil typical for this area, it survived the phylloxera disaster thanks to that each vine is connected to the land by it’s own root. Under the sand, which is up to a depth of 50 cm, there is a loess soil rich in clay and lime, which gives to the crop of 142-year-old vines a special mineral character. We aspired to the highest degree of naturalness in viticulture and wine-making. The bottling was preceded by 12 months of maturation in barrels. Unfiltered, unclarified, bottled without added sulfite. No pump or bottling machine is used, bottling is done by gravity. This wine, is bottled as separate label only in the best vintages.
