Crazy Lud White
Dry white wine
Vintage: 2024
Grape varieties and vineyards: Every variety is from Subotica wine region
Olaszrizling/Welschriesling (Nosa hill): planted in 2007 (vines planted in 1980 and 2007)
Bakator (Nosa hill): planted in 2019 (0.8 ha) The propagation material is our own selection from the Bakator and Szerémi zöld plantation planted in 1909.
Piros magyarka (Slankamenka): planted in 2004 (Talánterem) and around 1950 (1880 Kadarka vineyard) Piros magyarka is located in the Talánterem and 1880 Kadarka plantations, both of which were included in the Crazy Lud white. It was very popular as a wine grape and dessert grape in the past. Its ripe berries are reddish in color, with longer skin contact it can even be used to make a light red wine. It is typically low in sugar and acid content, but produces a juicy and drinkable wine.
Rhine Riesling (20% dehydrated and botrytis berries) (Nosa hill): planted 1980
Terroir: clay, limestone, sand, loess, 163 m above sea level (The flat areas around the hill are 130 m high: the hill itself is 30 m high) High lime content: 20% lime content at 30 and 60 centimeters deep, which is responsible for the acidity.
Vinification: Medium ripe grapes with needful freshness and fruitiness. The winemaking was based on an old tradition: in our region, it was not typical to make wines from only one grape variety. Typically, the grape varieties used in Crazy Lud White were also included in wines made from mixed grapes in the past, sometimes Kadarka was also added, so sometimes rosé colored wines were also made. We carried the tradition further, we found it important. In our cellar after destemming and pressing, fermented and matured in inox tanks for 7 months. Before bottling, we added a super low (20 mg/l) amount of sulphur.
Character: Slightly opalescent appearance, yet clear of rustic sediment. Aromas are fruity and spicy. Medium-bodied wine with rich fruits and a subtle acidity on the finish of the sip. Thanks to the many different grape varieties, we achieved a rich and layered flavor profile. It's a wine rich in flavors, but not in an extreme way, its taste is full of subtle, refined details.

Babba
Vineyard: Sremski Karlovci, Fruska Gora (Srem wine region), Fodor, Backi Vinogradi (Subotica wine region)
Vinification: The special feature of this wine is that it was fermented three times,
in three years in a row, each time it was macerated newly on the skins from the best basic ingredients of the next year's harvest.
In Sumerian mythology, Baba was the goddess of fertility and birth, and our ancestors prayed to Maria Baba when expecting a baby, so that the child would be healthy.
Even by nature it is risky to do fermentation once, and even more risky three times, so we prayed to Baba.
The wine is characterized by complex aromas and flavors in which a full body is concentrated, with a serious content of extracts and with a golden yellow and orange color. It was aged in barrels for 3 years, then bottled.
